The UTM-30LX Scanning Laser Rangefinder is a small, accurate, high-speed device for robotic applications. This device can be used outdoors and is less susceptible to ambient light due to the internal filtering and protective housing. Due to its low power consumption, this scanner is able to be used on battery-operated platforms.

■ Operation Principles
The UTM-30LX uses laser source (λ = 905nm) to scan 270° semicircular field. It measures distance to objects in the range and co-ordinates of those point calculated using the step angle. Sensor’s measurement data along with the angle is transmitted via communication channel.
