The Australian Conference on Robotics and Automation (ACRA) is held annually since 1999 to showcase the research and work done within our region. ACRA 2020 was a 3 day conference, the first 2 days academic papers were presented whilst the 3rd day was allowed industry to showcase their achievements.
This year ACRA was to be held at CSIRO’s Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT) but due to Covid-19 travel restrictions the conference this became a FREE virtual conference. This meant that Tribotix couldn’t attend as an exhibitor, but we were a major sponsor of the event as well as providing the prize for Best Student Paper which was awarded to:
“Sensor Deck Development for Sparse Localization and Mapping for Micro UAVs to Assist in Disaster Response” by Tharindu Suraj Chathuranga, Madushanka Padmal, Dasun Bibile, Peshala Jayasekara, Navinda Kottege
ROBOTIS provided the prize for Best Paper which was awarded to:
“Partially Observable Planning and Learning for Systems with Non-Uniform Dynamics” by Nicolas Collins and Hanna Kurniawati
The full program for the conference can be found here …. if/when videos for the presentations become available we’ll post links to them here as well.
ACRA 2021 will be held next year in December at Monash University in Melbourne – lets hope that Covid-19 has been controlled allowing this to be an in-person event.
